The word “Pentecost” derives from the Greek “pentekoste”, which is a reference to the “fiftieth” day. The feast of Pentecost is thus calculated as being the fiftieth day after Easter. The New Apostolic Church also recognizes this event as the time from which the church started its work, and that it was the moment of the birth of the church of Christ.
