(31.12.2004) Zurich. Grief and consternation over the many victims of the seaquake catastrophe in Southern Asia marked the last day of the year 2004. Many New Apostolic congregations observed a moment of silence to commemorate the dead, and the district apostles wrote letters that were read aloud in the congregations during New Year's Eve and New Year's Day services.

The terrible seaquake and tidal wave that has claimed the lives of many tens of thousands of victims throughout the entire region of Southern Asia and beyond is a terrible catastrophe. Chief Apostle Richard Fehr, head of the New Apostolic Church International, extends his deepest sympathy to all who have been affected by the disaster.
The church in Northern India organises relief effort: Hundreds of thousands of people flee their homes
(03.09.2004) Zurich. Torrential monsoons with powerful masses of water are still driving hundreds of thousands of people from their villages in the border region between India and Bangladesh. A tidal wave has already been covering the area for more than a month. The continuing heavy rainfall is making the situation worse day by day. And monsoon season is not even over yet: new rainfall continues to threaten again and again. The international church administration of the New Apostolic Church has agreed to dip into emergency reserves from its catastrophe relief fund to help.
