Nearly 8,000 congregations in 70 countries connected by satellite

(24.05.2007) Zurich/Hamburg. Pentecost 2007 – a big event for the New Apostolic Church. The Church’s international president and Chief Apostle, Dr. Wilhelm Leber, will conduct a divine service on Pentecost Sunday, 27 May 2007 in the Hamburg Congress Centre. More than 7,900 New Apostolic congregations in 70 countries will be connected in both sound and picture via satellite transmission. Some 1.5 million souls will be able to take part in the divine service. The sermon will be translated into English at the altar, and from there into over 20 other languages. more ...

All European apostles meet in Hamburg

At the end of May, the international leader of the New Apostolic Church, Chief Apostle Dr. Wilhelm Leber, will visit the District Churches of Northern Germany for this year’s feast of Pentecost. Over 60 Apostles from within Europe and the countries served from Europe are expected to attend the celebration with him. The highlight will be the divine service in the Hamburg Congress Centre, which will be transmitted to more than 60 countries, such as South Africa, White Russia, the Baltic region, and the Nordic countries by satellite. The European District Apostle Meeting arrives at some wide-ranging decisions

(09.05.2007) Zurich. At the end of April, the District Apostles of Europe assembled for their first conference of the year. Among other things they approved the production of a so-called “Image DVD” about the New Apostolic Church. Production of this new DVD will be entrusted to the Church’s own Public Relations Work Group in collaboration with a professional agency based in Germany. more ...

All about Pentecost

(04.05.2007) For some, Pentecost is merely a celebration of spring, for others it is the birthday of the church. The word “Pentecost” derives from the Greek “pentekoste”, which is a reference to the “fiftieth” day. The feast of Pentecost is thus calculated as being the fiftieth day after Easter. In ancient times, Easter Sunday was counted as the first day in this calculation, which would actually put the feast of Pentecost on Pentecost Monday. more ...
