When Chief Apostle Wilhelm Leber rings in the divine service on Pentecost morning in the New Apostolic congregation of Hamburg-Borgfelde, several thousand other congregations in over 100 countries will also be connected, either by satellite or internet. In this way, several million people around the world will witness this central Pentecost celebration of the New Apostolic Church on 19 May 2013—a fitting event to mark this year’s celebration of the 150-year anniversary of the New Apostolic Church. Pentecost 2013: A new Chief Apostle for the New Apostolic Church

(18.04.2013) Zurich. There are only about four more weeks to go before Pentecost, when a new Chief Apostle will be ordained for the New Apostolic Church. The current international Church leader, Chief Apostle Wilhelm Leber, will retire at the age of 65 and will be succeeded in ministry by a French national, namely Jean-Luc Schneider (53). Chief Apostle congratulates new Pope Francis

(14.03.2013) Zurich. Chief Apostle Wilhelm Leber has congratulated the new Pope Francis I on behalf of the New Apostolic Church. Yesterday Cardinal Jorge Mario Bergoglio was elected to the highest ministry of the Catholic Church. The 76-year-old Argentinean thus succeeds Pope Benedict XVI, who recently stepped down from office. [En savoir plus]

Change of Chief Apostle in the New Apostolic Church on Pentecost 2013

(15.01.2013) Zurich. On Pentecost Sunday, 19 May 2013, Chief Apostle Wilhelm Leber will entrust the Chief Apostle ministry to his successor Jean-Luc Schneider, after which he himself will retire. All New Apostolic congregations around the world will be able to join in and celebrate this divine service together as a satellite transmission. Well ahead of this date, the Church leader will personally inform all New Apostolic Church members around the world of this change by way of a circular letter. Chief Apostle officially ushers in the anniversary year 2013

Chief Apostle Wilhelm Leber, the international leader of the New Apostolic Church, chose the New Year’s Day divine service in his native city of Herford, Germany to officially usher in the 150-year anniversary of the Church: “The year 2013 is to be a year of profession!” In connection with this he referred to the great accomplishments of previous generations, without which the Church, as it stands today, would be inconceivable. Official introduction of the New Apostolic Catechism!

(05.12.2012) Zurich. “For the first time ever, a systematic description of the New Apostolic doctrine has been developed. Naturally there have already been other works describing significant elements of the New Apostolic faith […] Nevertheless there have been increasing calls for a more comprehensive description of our doctrine.” So it says on the first page of the Catechism of the New Apostolic Church. A 90-minute interview with the Chief Apostle recorded on nacworld

(03.12.2012) Zurich/Hamburg. After a 90-minute interview in front of a running camera, Chief Apostle Wilhelm Leber comes to the following positive conclusion: “I found the questions very interesting. They reflect current issues and address what people are generally thinking and feeling.” Prior to the interview, nacworld members had submitted nearly 200 questions to the leader of the New Apostolic Church. Tshitshi Tshisekedi to be ordained a District Apostle for South East Congo

(17.10.2012) Zurich. Tshitshi Tshisekedi, who currently serves as a District Apostle Helper, will receive the District Apostle ministry for the District Church of South East Congo in January of next year. Chief Apostle Wilhelm Leber announced this news in the course of the International District Apostle Meeting in Herzliya, Israel. District Apostle Jean-Luc Schneider will thereby transfer responsibility for the care of one of the largest New Apostolic District Churches in the world in order to dedicate himself increasingly to his tasks as a Chief Apostle Helper. First copy of the Catechism presented to the Chief Apostle

(12.10.2012) Zurich/Herzliya. The first print of the New Apostolic Catechism is in the hands of Chief Apostle Wilhelm Leber: the international Church leader was only too happy to pick up a copy of the extensive work. This brings a year of intensive work to a close, as at least the German-language version of the Catechism is to be published by mid-December. The work is also scheduled for publication in a number of other languages in January of next year. [En savoir plus]
