Asia & the Middle East
In 1881, an apostle by the name of F. L. Anthing travelled to Java from the Netherlands. Soon thereafter, both Dutch immigrants and Javanese locals began professing the New Apostolic faith.
Up until the 1970’s, Indonesia remained the only country of Asia in which the New Apostolic Church was represented. Eventually, missionary activity began to expand throughout the region of South East Asia, beginning in India. Thereafter the number of New Apostolic Christians began to grow quickly in many Asian countries.
