»nacworld« is one year old

(03.11.2009) Zurich. »nacworld«, the social networking website of the New Apostolic Church, celebrates its first birthday. On November 1, 2008 the platform went online. The messaging system was released at the end of 2008, and the online forums were introduced in May 2009, in time for the European Youth Day EYD. Worldwide prayers for peace 2009

It has now been several years that the New Apostolic Church has participated in the worldwide prayers for peace which traditionally take place each year during the month of September. The World Council of Churches (ÖRK/WCC/COE), with its seat in Geneva, is calling upon all churches to take part in this initiative of the United Nations. In UN-Resolution 55/282 from 2001, the 21st day of September was chosen to mark the International Day of Prayer for Peace. more ...

European Youth Day 2009: Warm thanks to all who participated!

The four-day European Youth Day 2009 organised by the New Apostolic Church drew to a peaceful conclusion on Sunday, 24 May 2009 with a closing divine service in the LTU-Arena in Düsseldorf. Some 46,000 participants, most of them young people from many different countries of Europe, listened attentively to the service conducted by Chief Apostle Wilhelm Leber. “Come to my Jesus” is the official song of the European Youth Day

(12.05.2009) Düsseldorf. “Come to my Jesus, here is my salvation! Come to my Jesus, glory to the Lord!” So reads the first line of the official song of the European Youth Day organised by theNew Apostolic Church. Sigi Hänger (36), a musician from the vicinity of Stuttgart, is the composer of the song. His piece, “Come to my Jesus”, garnered 31 percent of all votes submitted. more ...

The European Youth Day program guide is now available on the internet

(05.05.2009) Düsseldorf. From 21 – 24 May 2009, the New Apostolic Church will be hosting a European Youth Day in Düsseldorf. The program booklet with over 300 pages is now ready for download on the internet, 16 days before the big event is scheduled to take place. The approximately 35,000 participants will be able to choose from about 175 program options, among them workshops, presentations, many musical performances, and panel discussions. The New Apostolic Church’s “Ecumenism” Project Group has a new member

(17.02.2009) Zurich. Paul Imhof is the newest member of the “Ecumenism” Project Group of the New Apostolic Church. The 61-year-old Bishop from Switzerland has been appointed to the group to replace Bishop Hanspeter Nydegger, who retired from ministry in October 2006. The Project Group’s chairman, Apostle Volker Kühnle, festively presented the Chief Apostle’s letter of appointment to Bishop Imhof by commission of the Chief Apostle, and welcomed him with warm and inviting words. more ...

Official transfer of the congregations in the United Kingdom to the care of NAC Northern Germany

“Take a Look!” - a photo contest to promote the EYD of the New Apostolic Church

(10.02.2009) Düsseldorf. “Take a look!” is the name of the international photo contest for the European Youth Day of the New Apostolic Church, which is scheduled to take place in Düsseldorf from 21 to 24 May 2009. The company EPSON-Germany was secured as a partner for this campaign, and will award interesting prizes for the best submissions. Anatolij Budnik ordained Apostle for the Ukraine

District Apostle Urs Hebeisen now leads the New Apostolic Church in South East Asia

(20.01.2009) Yogyakarta/Zurich. An era has come to an end: for 23 years, District Apostle Alfons Tansahtikno was responsible for the New Apostolic Church in Indonesia. As of Sunday, 18 January 2009 he will enjoy a richly deserved retirement. His successor in ministry is District Apostle Urs Hebeisen (56) who will now not only lead the Church inIndonesia, but also many other countries of South East Asia. more ...
