New “Divine Service Guide” begins with the start of the new church year

The first Sunday of Advent 2007 will be a special date in the New Apostolic Church: this will be the first time that the new format of the “Word of life” will be used for the divine service. On location in Frankfurt: film sequences for “Image DVD” are in the box

(15.11.2007) Frankfurt. It was a cool autumn day. Nevertheless some 60 New Apostolic members from Frankfurt assembled on a sports field on the first Saturday of November in order to begin shooting some of the scenes for the new multimedia DVD of the New Apostolic Church International. The new means of advertising is scheduled to be completed by the middle of next year, and is being developed under the working title “Image DVD.” It will contain film scenes, animated info-clips, photos, and text. more ...

Apostles’ Council 1851: No Agreement to Restore the Twelvefold Unity of Apostles

On 4 April 1851 he lectured to the faithful at Buchwaeldchen (Silesia) on these hopes, but also utters his concern regarding the state the work of apostles has reached. He appeals to the believers “to pray incessantly that their number may be completed – for one of the Apostles has become unfaithful – that they may all become fully active, that they may become of one mind in all things, that they receive their full ability to fulfil God’s plan towards the Church.” more ...

Apostle Carlyle’s Thoughts on the Work of the Apostles for Christendom

In January 2007 we introduced a treatise in the New Apostolic Church magazine Our Family by way of which Apostle Carlyle had sought to express some important thoughts from the “Great Testimony” to a larger audience in 1843. This occurred prior to the introduction of Holy Sealing (1847) and before the actual start of his activity in Northern Germany. On the history of the Evangelist ministry in the Catholic Apostolic Church

On his website “ad fontes” Folkmar Schiek has publicly called upon the Work Group “History of the New Apostolic Church” (WG HNAC) to provide source references in the article “Perfecting the Ordinances—Historical Observations on the Ministry of Evangelist in the Catholic Apostolic Church” (OF 8/2007). The History Work Group responded to this with an Announcement of a supplementary article. more ...

"More emphasis on Holy Communion"

(02.01.2007) Zurich. Chief Apostle Wilhelm Leber declared that "we must make the celebration of Holy Communion more of a focal point in the divine services." In his interview with the editors the Chief Apostle also went on to explain why he believes training for our ministers is necessary. He also announced a second information evening toward the end of 2007. One possible topic might deal with issues concerning the Church’s history. more ...
