The Apocrypha - that is, the later writings of the Old Testament - are just as binding for the faith and doctrine of the New Apostolic Church as the other writings of the Old Testament. Doctrinal statements of the New Apostolic Church can thus be legitimated or supported by quotations from the Old Testament Apocrypha. So states a resolution of the District Apostle Meeting that took place in Zurich at the end of October.
(29.04.2005) Zurich. Already in April 2004 the District Apostle Meeting in Zurich ratified a new position on the concept of sin. The new element of this concept was the distinction drawn between sin and guilt.
(15.04.2005) Zurich. The number and symbolism of the hundred forty-four thousand have always played a significant role in the history and teaching of the New Apostolic Church. Now the Church has published a comprehensive position on this subject, which reflects the current state of the its doctrinal understanding.
(17.03.2005) Zurich. Already in April 2004 the leadership of the New Apostolic Church agreed to a common position on certain issues of sexual conduct. Taking special consideration of the globally diverse cultures in which the Church is active, the Church supports all societal efforts that afford special protection of the institutions of marriage and family.
(28.02.2005) Zurich. The New Apostolic Church has endorsed the medical view that brain death is synonymous with the death of the person it affects.
