The Chief Apostle has arrived

A happy welcome team (Photos: NAC Cape)

Cape Town. Wednesday 19 May 2010: The first of the larger groups of apostles have arrived yesterday with some 25 apostles from the African countries of Nigeria, Ghana, Togo, Ivory Coast and Benin. Thereafter smaller groups of 5 and 7 apostles put in an appearance, these men coming from as diverse origins as the Philippines and Australia to Cambodia, Indonesia and Thailand. Interspersed between the arriving apostles were also some personnel from New Apostolic Church’s International office and Verlag Friedrich Bischoff coming to cover the event.

The chief apostle landed just before 14:00 on Wednesday and once in the arrivals hall greeted everyone with his by now well-known characteristic smile. An air of excitement surrounded all the arrivals with many speaking in languages seldom heard by the local brothers manning the welcome desk. There is a general sense that everyone is looking forward to blessed days in the Cape.

The welcoming tables are strategically placed for the visitors to see immediately as they are drawn to the displays of the New Apostolic Church emblem. Here their details are efficiently processed as they are logged in on a computer system which already alerts the hotels where they are being accommodated that they have arrived. And then it is time to board the bus that will take them to their accommodation. After long journeys many look forward to a little bit of rest.

International weekend on Pentecost

The coming weekend will gather all apostles of the New Apostolic Church for an international apostles' meeting in Cape Town, South Africa. The divine service on Sunday will be transmitted world-wide via Satellite.
