A new official Church liaison for Rainbow-NAC

(08.01.2014) Zurich/Stuttgart. Rainbow-NAC has a new official point of contact in the New Apostolic Church. The Project Group (PG) Marriage, Family, and Cohabitation will now be the official liaison between the leadership of the Church and the initiative of homosexual, bisexual, and transsexual New Apostolic Christians. This change is intended to integrate the group more closely into the decision-making processes of the Church. The Committee for Special Affairs (CSA) had served as the group’s official liaison to the Church over the previous ten years. more ...

The anniversary year of the New Apostolic Church comes to an end

(31.12.2013) Zurich. The past year 2013 was an anniversary year for the New Apostolic Church. It was celebrated with numerous national and international events. Having emerged in 1863 from a small Catholic Apostolic congregation in Hamburg, Germany, the New Apostolic Church today numbers over ten million members around the world. Chief Apostle Leber takes leave of the Coordination Group

(04.12.2013) Zurich. The Coordination Group (CG) not only monitors and steers the work of the various Project Groups and Work Groups of the New Apostolic Church, but also ensures that the Chief Apostle is presented with conclusive and timely work results. After having been evaluated by the CG, work results are forwarded to the District Apostle Meeting. Six months after his retirement, the now retired Chief Apostle Wilhelm Leber has also been relieved of his work in the Coordination Group. more ...

A copy of the Catechism for the Pope

(23.11.2013) Rome. Pope Francis regularly receives many believers for general audiences in St. Peter’s Square in Rome. Recently a Priest from Argentina took this opportunity to hand him a Spanish edition of the Catechism of the New Apostolic Church. Concerning this, Argentine District Apostle Norberto Passuni writes: “It is advantageous for us as Argentines that the Pope comes from our country.” more ...

The International District Apostle Meeting in Canada is at an end

(12.10.2013) Zurich/Niagara. Three days of meetings are now at an end: the District Apostle Meeting for Africa convened on Wednesday, and the International District Apostle Meeting followed over the next two days. It was the first meeting of national Church presidents under the leadership of Chief Apostle Jean-Luc Schneider. At the beginning of the meeting he prayed especially for the ministers of the Church around the world: “Lord, give them strength out of the Holy Spirit, so that they may serve joyfully in their congregations!” Two District Apostle Helpers, namely Joseph Opemba Ekhuya (Uganda) and Victor Bezgans (Russia) were unable to attend due to problems in obtaining a visa. more ...

Meeting of all District Apostles of the world begins in Canada

(10.10.2013) Zurich/Niagara. “Even though we are sinful human beings and our work is sometimes flawed, You have given us many beautiful congregations in Africa”—with an emotional prayer of thanks, Chief Apostle Jean-Luc Schneider opened up the Africa conference of the District Apostles in Niagara, Canada. An appeal for global prayers for peace

(04.09.2013) Zurich. “God of Life, Lead Us to Justice and Peace.” So reads the motto for this year’s Day of Prayer for Peace on 21 September. The World Council of Churches (WCC) is calling on its members to set a special accent with global prayers for peace. The New Apostolic Church will once again participate in this effort, and will also offer up prayers for peace in all its congregations around the world on Sunday, 22 September. more ...

Memorial service for retired Chief Apostle Richard Fehr

(18.07.2013) Zurich. Chief Apostle Jean-Luc Schneider called his predecessor in ministry a “wise man with great vision”. The majority of New Apostolic District Church leaders from around the world attended the memorial service for the highly respected and popular Chief Apostle, who had directed the affairs of the New Apostolic Church over the seventeen years from 1988 to 2005. It was in gratitude and sadness that they gathered in the Zurich-Hottingen church to take leave of Richard Fehr, who passed away on 30 June 2013, shortly before his 74th birthday. more ...

Commemorative publication marking the 150-year anniversary of the New Apostolic Church

(15.07.2013) In the second quarter of the year marking its anniversary, the New Apostolic Church International has published a brochure that looks back on the beginnings and development of the Church. Among other things it includes a conversation with Chief Apostle Leber and the then Chief Apostle Helper Jean-Luc Schneider from the start of the year, which deals with the past, present, and future of the New Apostolic Church. The brochure will appear in German, English, French, Russian, and Spanish. more ...
