New “Divine Service Guide” begins with the start of the new church year
(15.11.2007) Zurich. The first Sunday of Advent 2007 will be a special date in the New Apostolic Church: this will be the first time that the new format of the “Word of life” will be used for the divine service. A new version of this preparatory material for use in divine services by the Church’s ministers was discussed and approved in the fall session of the International District Apostle Meeting convened in October 2006. On location in Frankfurt: film sequences for “Image DVD” are in the box
(15.11.2007) Frankfurt. It was a cool autumn day. Nevertheless some 60 New Apostolic members from Frankfurt assembled on a sports field on the first Saturday of November in order to begin shooting some of the scenes for the new multimedia DVD of the New Apostolic Church International. The new means of advertising is scheduled to be completed by the middle of next year, and is being developed under the working title “Image DVD.” It will contain film scenes, animated info-clips, photos, and text. Historic Days in Dar Es Salaam
(14.11.2007) Dar Es Salaam. It was a joyous occasion during the second weekend of November 2007 when Chief Apostle Wilhelm Leber, the leader of the international New Apostolic Church, visited the country of Tanzania for the first time during his tenure. The weekend began on Friday morning with a visit to two congregations in Tanzania and ended in the afternoon with a choral concert at the Dar es Salaam Central Church. [more]
District Apostle Meeting took place against the backdrop of a truly international Church

The fall meeting of the District Apostles of the New Apostolic Church, which took place in the Canadian city of Toronto at the end of October, clearly reflected the international character of the Church. After the first separate District Apostle Meeting for Asia and the usual District Apostle Meeting for Africa had been convened, the International District Apostle Meeting took time to explore questions of a theological and strategic nature. For Chief Apostle Wilhelm Leber, the international leader of the New Apostolic Church it was like taking a little trip back to his old home, as he had lived in Canada for a time during his youth. After the International District Apostle Meeting in Toronto, he conducted a festive divine service in the Kitchener Central church on 28 October 2007. Some 70 congregations throughout Canada and another 270 congregations in the USA and Mexico were connected by satellite. At the start of the service the congregation joined in the hymn: “Thank now our Lord and God.” [more]
The District Apostle Meeting in Canada has ended
(27.10.2007) Toronto. The international autumn meeting of all District Apostles, which on this occasion took place in Toronto, Canada, has ended with numerous resolutions. For the first time in the history of the New Apostolic Church, Chief Apostle Wilhelm Leber also convened a District Apostle Meeting for Asia. This meeting focussed particularly on the administrative, financial, and pastoral care challenges the Church faces in South East Asia. [more]
News agency reports of attacks on New Apostolic congregation in Pakistan
(15.10.2007) Zurich. “AsiaNews,” an on-line press agency, announced on October 10 that a New Apostolic congregation was attacked in Hadyara, a suburb of the Pakistani metropolis of Lahore. Both children and adults were attacked and verbally assaulted by Islamist extremists. Another attack is planned for the end of Ramadan, the month of fasting. [more]
NAC in Madagascar now be led from South East Africa
(19.09.2007) Madagascar. Last weekend Chief Apostle Wilhelm Leber paid a visit to the island of Madagascar. Some 1,500 brethren and interested guests attended the divine service he conducted there. Following the service, the international Church president entrusted the leadership of the New Apostolic Church on this island off the east coast of Africa into the hands of District Apostle Johann Kitching from South East Africa. Worldwide prayers for peace
(11.09.2007) Zurich. Again this year the New Apostolic Church will take part in the “International Day of Prayer for Peace,” which has been celebrated around the world for four years now, traditionally on 21 September. The World Council of Churches has called upon its approximately 350 member churches to offer up prayers for peace on this day. Already two years ago, Chief Apostle Wilhelm Leber asked the New Apostolic congregations around the world for their commitment to this cause. [more]
New District Apostle Helper for East Africa
(03.08.2007) Zurich. Apostle Shadreck Mundia Lubasi is to become the new District Apostle Helper for East Africa. Chief Apostle Wilhelm Leber will carry out this appointment in a divine service scheduled to take place in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania in November. The Chief Apostle relates that this is a first step in the creation of the new District Apostle District of East Africa, which is to be established over the course of the next few years. This district will include the East African countries of Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda. [more]
