The District Apostle Meeting in Canada has ended

(27.10.2007) Toronto. The international autumn meeting of all District Apostles, which on this occasion took place in Toronto, Canada, has ended with numerous resolutions. For the first time in the history of the New Apostolic Church, Chief Apostle Wilhelm Leber also convened a District Apostle Meeting for Asia. This meeting focussed particularly on the administrative, financial, and pastoral care challenges the Church faces in South East Asia. [more]

News agency reports of attacks on New Apostolic congregation in Pakistan

(15.10.2007) Zurich. “AsiaNews,” an on-line press agency, announced on October 10 that a New Apostolic congregation was attacked in Hadyara, a suburb of the Pakistani metropolis of Lahore. Both children and adults were attacked and verbally assaulted by Islamist extremists. Another attack is planned for the end of Ramadan, the month of fasting. [more]

NAK-karitativ gets involved in Africa’s Sahel region

(20.09.2007) Dortmund. After the unusually strong rainfalls in the countries of the Sahel region, NAK-karitativ, the relief organisation of the New Apostolic Church in Germany, has begun to assess the immediate and intermediate relief measures it will need to initiate, and has set funds aside for corresponding projects. NAC in Madagascar now be led from South East Africa

(19.09.2007) Madagascar. Last weekend Chief Apostle Wilhelm Leber paid a visit to the island of Madagascar. Some 1,500 brethren and interested guests attended the divine service he conducted there. Following the service, the international Church president entrusted the leadership of the New Apostolic Church on this island off the east coast of Africa into the hands of District Apostle Johann Kitching from South East Africa. Worldwide prayers for peace

(11.09.2007) Zurich. Again this year the New Apostolic Church will take part in the “International Day of Prayer for Peace,” which has been celebrated around the world for four years now, traditionally on 21 September. The World Council of Churches has called upon its approximately 350 member churches to offer up prayers for peace on this day. Already two years ago, Chief Apostle Wilhelm Leber asked the New Apostolic congregations around the world for their commitment to this cause. [more]

(05.09.2007) Cape Town. The trip that led Chief Apostle Wilhelm Leber to Cape Town, South Africa had been planned at short notice. His packed itinerary included a concert, a training session for ministers, and two divine services. Three new Apostles and six new Bishops were ordained for the Cape District. [more]

The Henwood Foundation has its own website

(31.08.2007) Lusaka. The aid organisation of the New Apostolic Church of Zambia is known as the “Henwood Foundation.” It is named after George Henwood, a New Apostolic pioneer in this part of Africa. Now the institution has a website of its own. [more]

NAC Netherlands has a new website design

(31.08.2007) Amersfoort. “It was high time…” says the new website of the New Apostolic Church in the Netherlands. These words are a reference to the District Church’s fresh, modernised web design, which now also offers numerous new features. [more]

Chiesa Neo-Apostolica has a new homepage

(31.08.2007) Zurich. The New Apostolic Church, or “Chiesa Neo-Apostolica,” as it is known in Italy, now has a new website. Its modernised homepage is identical in layout to the website of the New Apostolic Church Switzerland. [more]

Apostles’ Council 1851: No Agreement to Restore the Twelvefold Unity of Apostles

(22.08.2007) Zurich. In the previous article of this series we have looked at Apostle Carlyle’s views of the work to be done by apostles in the future. On 4 April 1851 he lectured to the faithful at Buchwaeldchen (Silesia) on these hopes, but also utters his concern regarding the state the work of apostles has reached. He appeals to the believers “to pray incessantly that their number may be completed – for one of the Apostles has become unfaithful – that they may all become fully active, that they may become of one mind in all things, that they receive their full ability to fulfil God’s plan towards the Church.” [more]
