(22.08.2007) Zurich. In the previous article of this series we have looked at Apostle Carlyle’s views of the work to be done by apostles in the future. On 4 April 1851 he lectured to the faithful at Buchwaeldchen (Silesia) on these hopes, but also utters his concern regarding the state the work of apostles has reached. He appeals to the believers “to pray incessantly that their number may be completed – for one of the Apostles has become unfaithful – that they may all become fully active, that they may become of one mind in all things, that they receive their full ability to fulfil God’s plan towards the Church.” [more]

(03.08.2007) Zurich. Apostle Shadreck Mundia Lubasi is to become the new District Apostle Helper for East Africa. Chief Apostle Wilhelm Leber will carry out this appointment in a divine service scheduled to take place in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania in November. The Chief Apostle relates that this is a first step in the creation of the new District Apostle District of East Africa, which is to be established over the course of the next few years. This district will include the East African countries of Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda. [more]

(26.07.2007) Zurich. A second information evening with Chief Apostle Wilhelm Leber will be transmitted by satellite on Tuesday, 4 December 2007. All ministers of the Church and all interested members throughout Europe are invited to take part in this event. The source of the transmission will be the conference centre of the New Apostolic Church International in Zurich. The transmission will start at 8:00 PM local time. [more]

(25.07.2007) Estes Park, Colorado. On Friday, July 20, the international church president, Chief Apostle Wilhelm Leber arrived in Denver, Colorado. He was accompanied by District Apostles Theodoor deBruijn (Netherlands), Hagen Wend (Germany) and Richard Freund (USA). The group traveled by bus to the YMCA of the Rockies in Estes Park to attend the annual NAC USA Youth Day. [more]

(25.07.2007) Yogyakarta. At the beginning of July 2007 Chief Apostle Wilhelm Leber visited Indonesia. This was the third and last stop on his trip to Australia, the South Pacific, and Asia. After a 22-hour trip, the travellers reached the hotel in Bandung at around midnight. Meetings in the Bandung church administration were scheduled for the next day. [more]

In January 2007 we introduced a treatise in the New Apostolic Church magazine Our Family by way of which Apostle Carlyle had sought to express some important thoughts from the “Great Testimony” to a larger audience in 1843. This occurred prior to the introduction of Holy Sealing (1847) and before the actual start of his activity in Northern Germany. Here we would like to familiarise our readers with thoughts that the same Apostle published in the German language in the years 1850 and 1851. [more]

On his website “ad fontes” Folkmar Schiek has publicly called upon the Work Group “History of the New Apostolic Church” (WG HNAC) to provide source references in the article “Perfecting the Ordinances—Historical Observations on the Ministry of Evangelist in the Catholic Apostolic Church” (OF 8/2007). The History Work Group responded to this with an Announcement of a supplementary article. [more]

(02.07.2007) Sydney. A blessed weekend in Sydney, Australia ended with a festive divine service in the Hills Centre on Sunday. On Monday, Chief Apostle Wilhelm Leber travelled onward to the Fiji Islands. Before going to the hotel he visited the village of Natalau, where a divine service is scheduled to take place on Tuesday. The Chief of the Village, who is Muslim, welcomed the guest of honour with a traditional “Fiji Welcome.” [more]
