District Apostle Meeting established statements on the Apocrypha

The Apocrypha - that is, the later writings of the Old Testament - are just as binding for the faith and doctrine of the New Apostolic Church as the other writings of the Old Testament. Doctrinal statements of the New Apostolic Church can thus be legitimated or supported by quotations from the Old Testament Apocrypha. In a divine service on Sunday, 18 September 2005, Chief Apostle Wilhelm Leber released three apostles into a well-deserved retirement: Gunter Homburg, Klaus-Dieter König, and Günter Wiktor. He went on to ordain Wolfgang Schug (46) as the new apostle for the District of North Rhine-Westphalia. Apostle Reinhard Jabs passed away

(13.09.2005) Zurich. After a brief but serious illness, Apostle Reinhard Jabs has passed away at the age of 48. He is survived by his wife and three children. Reinhard Jabs was ordained an apostle in April 2002, and his working area included districts in Canada and India. Chief Apostle Wilhelm Leber has expressed his warm sympathy to the family. more ...
