Many lives lost in Haiti earthquake

(14.01.2010) Zurich. Millions of people on the Caribbean island of Haiti have been left impoverished, injured, wounded, dead, or homeless. There has not even been any news yet concerning the approximately 2,000 New Apostolic Christians there. The capital city, Port-au-Prince, is in a state of utter chaos. With a magnitude of 7.0 on the Richter scale, Tuesday evening’s earthquake was the worst in decades. Message for the year 2010: Persevere!

Apostle Meeting and divine service in Colombo

(03.12.2009) Zurich. On 22 November, Chief Apostle Wilhelm Leber, international leader of the New Apostolic Church, conducted a divine service in Colombo, Sri Lanka. During the service, the Church leader retired the long-serving Apostle Isaac Yesumoney from India before an assembly of some 400 members and guests. The Apostle had served as a minister of the New Apostolic Church for over 30 years, among them 21 years as a faithful and conscientious Apostle, as the Chief Apostle stressed. more ...

Relief organisation planned for East Africa

(03.12.2009) Dortmund. As NAK-karitativ relates, a new Church relief organisation is to be established in East Africa in January of next year. Its head office is to be located in the Kenyan capital of Nairobi, from where it will coordinate charitable aid operations in Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, and Zanzibar. Such was the consensus reached at a meeting between Crispin Sanjase, managing director of the Henwood Foundation (Zambia), and Bernd Klippert, director of the relief organisation NAK-karitativ (Germany). more ...

Dialogue and anniversary: the Committee for Special Affairs and Rainbow-NAC gather for another meeting

Only ten days after a meeting commemorating the 10-year anniversary of the group known as Rainbow-NAC in Saarbrücken, the Committee for Special Affairs (CSA) met up with a delegation of old and new spokespersons for the group in order to continue their dialogue in Frankfurt. The messaging system was released at the end of 2008, and the online forums were introduced in May 2009, in time for the European Youth Day EYD. After one year, nacworld has more than 13,000 members in almost 70 countries. more ...

Three divine services in Guinea-Bissau

(31.10.2009) Bissau. The last weekend of October led international Church leader, Chief Apostle Wilhelm Leber, to the West African country of Guinea-Bissau. In the divine service on Sunday, the Chief Apostle ordained some new ministers: Amilo N’Dam (41) was ordained to the Apostle ministry for the District Church of Guinea-Bissau, and Michael Imbana (49) will now work in this District Church in the capacity of a Bishop. Ten-year anniversary of Rainbow-NAC: “You are not alone!”

Last weekend a total of 70 homosexual, bisexual, and transsexual New Apostolic Christians gathered in Saarbrücken to mark the ten-year anniversary - and the 27th international meeting - of Rainbow-NAC. District Apostle Bernd Koberstein of the District Church of Hesse/Rhineland-Palatinate/Saarland attended the meeting in the Saarbrücken-Central church as the representative of the New Apostolic Church. Living in dignity and security

(09.10.2009) Dortmund. The New Apostolic relief organisation known as “NAK-karitativ” has a new website as of today. The new site provides an in-depth look at a “relief and development organisation of the New Apostolic Church in Germany, which initiates or supports projects and aid activities independently or in cooperation with churches and competent partners all over the world with the objective of enabling people to live in dignity and security.” For the first time, an English translation has also been made available. more ...

Aid begins to arrive in the disaster areas of the Philippines

District Apostle Urs Hebeisen, who represents the New Apostolic Church in the Philippines, reports that emergency aid from the Church has begun to arrive in the disaster areas of the Philippines. Tropical storm “Ketsana” has caused the most severe flooding in forty years in the capital city of Manila and throughout the northern provinces. Thousands of people have been affected. With the help of the New Apostolic relief organisation known as “NAK-karitativ”, which is based in Germany, the first manifestations of aid have already begun to arrive in the Philippines. more ...
