Setting: A European Apostles’ Meeting on the Friday and Saturday before Pentecost had brought all the Apostles of Europe to Hamburg. For the first time in the history of the New Apostolic Church, the wives of the Apostles were also admitted to the conference. In several workshops they discussed issues of current relevance for the Church. Approximately 8,000 congregations around the world took part in the Pentecost service via satellite transmission. For the first time ever, some congregations were also connected to the service via the internet.

Pentecost greeting: “Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me!” (John 14: 1).

Core thoughts: “It might well be that we are frightened at certain times in our lives, but let us not allow ourselves to be shaken in our innermost being. Let us strive to attain the nature of Jesus Christ, the Son of God. He always fostered a strong prayer life, His life was defined by serving others, and He truly devoted Himself to all mankind.”
