Setting: The largest New Apostolic Church building, located in Tafelsig near Cape Town, seats around 4,000 people. It was there that the first Pentecost service conducted by Chief Apostle Wilhelm Leber took place. Approximately 1.7 million souls in some 8,000 churches were able to hear the Chief Apostle’s call: “Never draw back!”  These words have already become something of a catchphrase in the New Apostolic world.

Parallel to these Pentecost festivities, the New Apostolic Church in this part of the continent also celebrated its 100-year anniversary.

Pentecost greeting: “But we are not of those who draw back to perdition, but of those who believe to the saving of the soul” (Hebrews 10: 39).

Core thoughts: “Under what circumstances might we draw back? When there is resistance. This is a danger of our days. There are influences which could bring us to the point of drawing back. There are dangers from outside and there are dangers from within.”
