Setting: Not only the bride, but also the martyrs will take part in the first resurrection. The resurrection of the two groups will not take place at the same time. In very brief summary, such was the revised teaching of the New Apostolic Church regarding its understanding of the first resurrection. At the end of this divine service Chief Apostle Richard Fehr read out a theological paper in order to impart the same content to all parts of the world at the same time. From Dortmund, the service was transmitted to more than 1,500 congregations in Africa, Europe, and South America. For the New Apostolic Church in the United Kingdom, the Chief Apostle ordained David Middleton a Bishop.

Pentecost greeting: “Blessed and holy is he who has part in the first resurrection. Over such the second death has no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with Him a thousand years” (Revelation 20: 6).

Core thoughts: “Together we have just sung the hymn ‘Thank now our Lord and God,’ in which it says that we should give thanks with ‘heart, and hands, and voices.’ Basically, we can only do this if God’s work lives in our hearts, if we testify of our faith at the right moment, and if we lend a hand in the beautiful work of God.”
