Setting: The divine service was transmitted to Western Europe as well as a few countries in Eastern Europe and - for the first time - to South Africa via satellite. A total of 260,000 souls in approximately 1,000 churches took part in the divine service.

Pentecost greeting: “You also be patient. Establish your hearts, for the coming of the Lord is at hand” (James 5: 8).

Core thoughts: “James is like a symbol and representative of living hope. And may I ask all of us: Do we hope like he did?  […] In our time, there is much that has become too much for many! Let us see to it that this living hope in our hearts does not diminish, and that we never look at our efforts in God’s work as being too much, or consider it burdensome to follow!”
