Non-marital heterosexual relationships

The New Apostolic Church does not approve of a couple living together in intimate relations in a common domicile without having been married and without a church blessing. It recommends marriage and emphasises the importance of the marriage blessing. “Trial marriages” are thus rejected by the Church.

Members living together in concubinage are not permitted to practise a ministerial or teaching function because their lifestyle is not exemplary to others.
